SF State Resources
Drupal PDF Accessibility Monitoring is the ongoing service extension of the Drupal PDF Accessibility Review (D-PAR). Rather than a time-bound project, this is a continuous monitoring service supporting SF State's Title II compliance work beyond the original D-PAR engagement.
We perform automated scans across every SF State Drupal domain and Box repository to maintain a current inventory of PDF files and their accessibility status. Scan results are updated twice monthly or upon request and are available here: Drupal PDF Accessibility Monitoring Scan Results.
The DOJ extended the ADA Title II compliance deadline to April 26, 2027, but the WCAG 2.1 AA standard is unchanged and SF State's obligations under Section 504, Section 508, California Government Code §11135, and CSU Executive Order 1111 remain in effect. Continued PDF remediation across the Drupal footprint is essential to meeting those obligations.

Equidox is a web-based PDF remediation tool that streamlines the process of bringing PDFs into WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. Through SF State and the CSU Chancellor's Office, our team provides Equidox accounts to campus staff and faculty who need to remediate PDF content as part of their work.
We also offer training and ongoing support to help you get started and work through more complex documents. This includes onboarding sessions for new users, guidance on tagging structure, tables, forms, and reading order, and one-on-one consultation when you encounter documents that need a closer look.

PopeTech is the web accessibility scanning tool used for the public websites for San Francisco State, Sonoma State, and CSU East Bay.

CCC Accessibility Center
The CSU has recently partnered with the California Community Colleges (CCC) to provide CSU staff and faculty with full access to their accessibility courses. These courses are free for all faculty and staff and are designed to be completed at your own pace. WebAIM
The WebAIM Accessible Document Training is an online, self-paced course that covers the essentials of creating accessible Word, PowerPoint, and PDF (Acrobat) documents. This independent-study training is ideal for faculty, staff, and student assistants involved in document creation or remediation.
