The Project Management Office (PMO) aligns IT efforts with San Francisco Bay Region Network (SFBRN) strategic priorities and ensures that projects are executed effectively and efficiently to advance the mission.
Submit an information technology project request for Cal State East Bay, Sonoma State, or SFSU.
To log in, select “Sign in with your company (campus) account” and authenticate using your campus email address.
Project Management Process
For a project to be prioritized and reviewed for approval, a project request needs to be submitted.
In the initiating phase, the project officially starts and the project sponsor allocates resources including the Project Lead and Project Coordinator (depending on the characteristics of the project)
In the planning phase, the project lead in conjunction with the project team fine the course of action to achieve the scope of the project.
In the Executing and Controlling phase, the project team implements the plans to complete the work and track and review the progress.
In the Closing phase, the project lead formally completes or closes the project. Once a project has been completed, the end product will be transitioned into operations/maintenance mode.
Active SFBRN Projects
SFBRN Shared Boomi
Build a collaborative Boomi data integration environment that all three SFBRN campuses can share.
SFBRN Shared Identity and Access Management
Enable SSO authentication in campus Entra ID tenants and migrate key applications to Entra ID SSO as a proof of concept. Assess the feasibility of adopting Entra ID as the standard front-end for SSO authentication to streamline future migrations.
SFBRN Shared Productivity Suite
Standardize Teams as the primary collaboration platform for Network staff. Ensure reliable access to Teams, email, and calendars to support communication needs and build a foundation for a full Microsoft suite transition.
SFBRN Shared Service Management
Optimize ticket triage and routing at the Network Support Center by temporarily onboarding SSU to the CSUEB ServiceNow instance or utilizing the Chancellor’s Office instance as an interim solution.
SFBRN Shared Security Suite
Establish baseline Microsoft Defender XDR controls across campuses (Defender for Identity, Servers, Office 365, and Cloud Apps). Define the integration sequence and roadmap for Sentinel implementation.
SFBRN Shared Dial Plan
Introduce a shared dial plan as a temporary measure, providing a single published help desk number until all campuses complete migration to a unified telephony platform. (AKA Unifed Communications Plan)
SFBRN Shared Web Service Portal
Establish a public-facing web portal that provides a single branded entry for transparency and ease of use across the three campuses.
